shot both side by side in .40 cal and liked them both. comfort/feel etc. is personal preference and does not make a gun good or bad. for the same exact price i went glock because of the long history of reliability since the primary use for the gun is cc. i'm not saying xd's aren't reliable, but obviously glock has a longer history of reliability.
Confessed glock guy here. i flirted with a Springfield for IDPA a few years back but sold it and went back to glock. The glock just seemed more controllable and ran better for me personally. I do like the grip safety however. I have been running a Glock 20 for about 8 years now. I have tried the older twenties the slim frame and the new gen 4. The Gen4 is a much better fit for me personally. I have not personally tried the xd 10mm so I can't comment on it.The Glock 36 is the same size as the G19. If Glock would do something like this XDS 45 , they'd win a lot of customers in my opinion. This XDS has a grip-safety , which I don't like and has a few more parts too , but it is the best and thinnest .45ACP I know .No serious agency has adapted the XD. Something about the XD that bugs me is that they used to go for 2-300 dollars and then springfield started importing them with a better finish and they now cost more than glocks. They are the one gun that could make the glock look pretty. The XDm and XDs is another story.My favorite things about the XD-M Elite 3.8″ are the weight and slide design. Starting with the weight, a gun this size could be very uncomfortable to carry, but that was not the case. In fact, I really didn’t feel that much of a difference between carrying this gun and my Glock 19. The slide is also a win.

The Mod.2 appears to gain full length vertical ridges, sort of like Glock added on the Glock 42 magazine 33249 when they went from -02 to -03. I never heard of, or experienced the same false lock issues on XD(M), so probably those ridges serve a different function on XD Mod.2. Maybe they permit them to use thinner steel by increasing rigidity.

the results...its a tank. when the XD came out some one (i can't remember who of the top of my head) put it through the glock torture test. the results...it to is a tank. not in my opinion the XD has some things over the glock and the glock has some things over the XD to the point of I couldn't decide which is better and I own both. as for the sig.1 grip safety. 2 loaded chamber indicator. 3 striker cocked indicator. I can tell you that with my .45 xd, I can shoot 4-5" groups at 75 feet, and that is just fine with me. I can do the same thing with my friends glock 30.
